Tea dances banned from the Carron & Carronshore Hall

It seems too strange to be true. Imagine banning pensioners from holding the tea dances they've had for more than 20 years because they're "shuffling away" the floor of the hall.

Yet that's exactly what happened. The hall's management committee has banned the elderly hoofers because the floor's last varnish job only lasted two months, according to The Falkirk Herald.

The Herald hasn't posted the story to its website, but you can read a slightly less restrained version in The Sun.

What do you think? Is the management committee failing to let the community centre serve the community? Or don't they have any choice?
