New video of The Helix - and bus tours!
21 SeptemberA new video showing what the Helix project linking Carronshore and Grangemouth could bring to the area has been released.
The clip, entitled The Helix is Happening, combines computer graphics with photographs of the area to give an artist's impression of how the extensive parkland project will look.
It outlines what The Helix is expected to bring to the area, turning under-used land into countryside walks, opening up wetland and woodland, creating a lagoon and providing better canal links to the Forth shore at Grangemouth. Plans include a nature reserve to the back of Carronshore. The paths allowing walkers to ramble from here to Grangemouth opened in the summer.
The £43 million development will transform 300 hectares of land between Falkirk and Grangemouth and phase one is expected to be completed in 2013.
There's also a bus tour available to give you a guided tour of The Helix sites on the following dates. It's free but places are limited, so click on one of the links to get on the guest list.
