Carron Nursing Home initiative makes local woman's flight dream come true

A 76 year old local resident has fulfilled her ambition to fly a helicopter, thanks to a new scheme introduced by staff at her nursing home in Carron.

Cathy Cheape was able to take the controls on an unforgettable flight over the Falkirk area from Cumbernauld airport after signing up for Carrondale Nursing Home's Wishing Well initiative, aimed at giving residents the chance to take part in activities that interest them.

Cathy, who has lived at Carrondale for three and a half years, told the paper how much she enjoyed her first ever helicopter flight saying "I was a great experience, and I would do it again."
